Beatrisa

Beatrisa Metlic was born in 1954 in Yugoslavia. After decades living in Sydney, Australia, she now resides in Chicago. After retriring from a career in engineering, Beatrisa finally has time to focus on her love of art. She enjoys working with various materials (paper, glass, cellulose, ceramics, and wire) and is always exploring new techniques, where her background in chemistry often comes in handy.

Beatrisa has had recent exhibitions both in the USA and Serbia. In the summer of 2022, she exhibited a selection of wire scuptures at the Judith Racht Gallery in Harbert, Michigan. More recently, she participated in the Sombor Salon 2023 competition in Serbia, where she was awarded the first place distinction for her wire work titled ‘MCP’. The gallery invited her to showcase her work with a solo exhibition during the summer of 2024 ().

Her work has been sold for several years at the Wright auction house. For previously sold and upcoming pieces, visit her artist page here.
